Online card classes Day 2 002

Holiday Card Workshop class.
I decided to use kraft paper just for a little change up from using basic white.
I used the Tim Holtz winter distress inks the same as Lisa used on her sample. I also misted it with perfect pearls but it's a little hard to see in the photo.
Cut the strips in random widths and added a little dashed line around the edges so it wasn't so plain.
The sentiment is Hero Arts and the snowflakes are just stickers from American Crafts called Iceplum.
I had fun making this one and I hope you enjoy it too.

Online card classes Day 2 001

For the Holiday Card Workshop.
I must admit that my first sample did not turn out exactly right so it was scrapped and I started again. I used Impression Obsession Circle Fusion 1 background stamp which I clear embossed for the green background and gold embossed for the tree. Added the strip down the side from Penny Black Madison paper pack. The sentiment is Hero Arts which is also gold embossed. Die cut edges are from a Spellbinders Classic Petal Edgeabilities.
Added a star to the top of the tree.
This is a definitely a fun technique!

Online card classes Day 1

This was my first day of the Holiday Card Workshop online card classes at Hero Arts. This is my take on the card that Jennifer created for the class today. I just love watching or following anything that she creates. She is absolutely amazing!
This is a snowflake clear set from HA and so is the sentiment. I used shadow inks and some distress inks for the different colours of snowflakes. The shiny dots is a little stamp from Annette Allen Watkins. Don't even know what company it is from. I thought it would be a nice effect in the white background area of the card. I used the Platinum Planet Brilliance inkpad from Tsukineko which gives it the glimmery effect.
TFL and am so looking forward to Day 2. Yeah!!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas by Craftin' Judy
Merry Christmas, a photo by Craftin' Judy on Flickr.

Background was clear embossed with CG465 Snow Dots from Hero Arts.
The strips of paper are from the Paper Salon Holiday pack which I purchased a few years back.
The poinsettias, leaves and sentiment are all Hero Arts also. I added some brads in the middle of the flowers to which I also added a little bit of stickles.
Also added a piece of glitter twine down the left side of the card for some more glitz.
Holiday cards should always have a bit of glitz, glitter and sparkle.
Thanks for having a look!

Winter trees

Used the Hero Arts CL459 Merry Christmas Tree set.
Embossed the trees with various powders.
Added a strip of glitter at the bottom of the card with some added snow detail.
The stars are from Studio Calico Mistables set which I either embossed with powder or added some Stickles.
The sentiment is from the same set as the trees.
The large white background was misted with Perfect Pearls Forever Blue.
TFL and enjoy. Hope it puts you in the Holiday spirit too!

Halloween card trio

Casing Michelle Woerner - GinaK Designs DT.stopandstamptheroses.blogspot.ca/
I found an article in the Winter 2012 Paper Creations Magazine featuring her card which was done in a Christmas theme.
I decided to make these cute little cards for my 2 nieces and the son of one of my co-workers.
I must admit that there wasn't a whole lot of stampin' going on here.
For card #1 - the ghost is a foam stick on which I added googly eyes to
Card# 2 - the cat is a die cut that I purchased and added yellow rhinestones for the eyes
Card#3 - the pumpkin is a rub on. I could have added a little sparkle but decided the little white dots that I added around the circle and the greeting were sufficient.
The coloured papers are from the Doodlebug Design Haunted Manor paper pad.
The lacey circles are Spellbinders dies.
I think they are just the cutest and would like to thank Michelle for her inspiration for my creations.

Friday at last!

Good evening to all you cardmakers and paper crafters.
Well it is finally the end of yet another work week and I'm not sure but they seem to be getting longer and longer.
The weather isn't supposed to be very good this weekend so it looks like it'll be a good time to maybe lock myself in my little craft room and create, create, create. With Christmas fast approaching I would really like to get a jump on my Holiday cardmaking.
I've signed up for my first on-line cardmaking class and can hardly wait until it begins. I am so looking forward to the start of class.
I often wonder what to do with all those cards that I make for different online challenges but my local Curves club has come to the rescue. In November for 3 days they hold a craft fair for members who are creative with their hobbies. It's a good opportunity to showcase some of my creations alongside those of my exercise gal friends. Maybe you have something similar in your own area where you can show off your beautiful creations. I know I would love for you to share your stories.

So whether you are making cards for family and friends or for selling in local craft fairs have fun and keep creating.  I know you all inspire me to. So thank you ladies,

Holiday Season

Holiday Season by Craftin' Judy
Holiday Season, a photo by Craftin' Judy on Flickr.

Good evening everyone,

I made this card for the October sketch challenge at Hero Arts. Not sure if you can tell but there is some glitter on the white swirls of the Leaft & Flower Background.
I stamped the background and embossed with White Diamonds embossing powder but had some trouble taking the photo so that you could actually see the glitter. I used Evergreen Bough distress ink over the embossing.
The sentiment is CL543 from Hero Arts and so is the little red bow.
Hope you have a chance to have a closer look. Maybe you might have to zoom in a little to see the glitter. It really does bring out the background when the right light catches it.

Big Thank You

Big Thank You by Craftin' Judy
Big Thank You, a photo by Craftin' Judy on Flickr.

I created this card for the Hero Arts October sketch challenge. I found these 12x12 sheets of washi paper from WeR Memory Keepers. The great thing about these sheets is that you can use them to die cut anything or any shape.
I used the HA Envelope Liner background (CG461) and stamped it with the HA Soft Sand Shadow Ink.
Cut out different strips of Washi paper. Added Antique Linen Distress ink around the edges of the card and the sentiment. I also stamped the sentiment background with the Envelope Liner too.
Sentiment is CG132 also from HA.
I added a paper flower, a large button and some twine. Accented the flower with a little Stickles.
Thanks for having a look.
Hope you can find these Washi sheets to enjoy also.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas by Craftin' Judy
Merry Christmas, a photo by Craftin' Judy on Flickr.
I created this card for the Hero Arts October Sketch challenge.
I used the HA lattice background on the white strip and embossed white.
Die cut the scalloped circles and the striped piece from Spellbinders, the sentiment is also Hero Arts from a large background stamp that I used only the Merry Christmas part of the stamp. Added some punched out holly, strip of Hero Arts ribbon down the strip and added a ribbon bow with a shot of bling in the middle of the bow. The striped paper is from the Very Merry Christmas pad from Echo Park.
Hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by to have a look.

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hi.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy day and hopefully you all had a chance to spend some time in your crafting corner, wherever that might be in your home and have some fun enjoying the day being creative.
I was able to spend some time in my craft space and created 2 Christmas cards which I will be posting later. Haven't had a chance to take their darling little pictures yet!!!
Also want to wish all you fellow Canadians a Happy Thanksgiving. I know I have quite a large turkey to cook with all the trimmings. It's like my pre-Christmas dinner. Already managed to get into the pumpkin pie though. Had to make sure it was up to par and oh yeah it was.

Enjoy the rest of your evening,

Judy
