Joy

Joy1 by Craftin' Judy
Joy1, a photo by Craftin' Judy on Flickr.

This is for the November challenge at Hero Arts - Bring on the Bling. I made this using purple metallic cardstock which I find is very difficult to photograph. Die cut the tree on white cs which I layered over the purple cs then added some clear gemstones, a star and a silver bow at the base of the tree.

JOY

JOY by Craftin' Judy
JOY, a photo by Craftin' Judy on Flickr.

I made this card for the Hero Arts Bring on the Bling challenge for November.
Background was stamped with white ink on kraft card using the Herringbone CR004 stamp from Impression Obsession.
Embossed the dark brown cardstock using Cuttlebug's D'Vine Swirls embossing folder with Versamark ink.
The small snowflake is from Spellbinders Create-A-Flake Four die set using glitter cardstock.
Sentiment is from Michaels which I stamped in Walnut Distress ink and added some stickles to the lower part of the letters.
Added some strips of glitter cardstock and Hero Arts gold accents for the centre of the snowflake and the holly leaves.
Hope you enjoy this card and thanks for stopping by to have a look!

Peace, Love and Joy

Peace, Love and Joy by Craftin' Judy
Peace, Love and Joy, a photo by Craftin' Judy on Flickr.

Also for the Hero Arts monthly challenge for Bring on the Bling and Dry embossing.
For this card I used the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder on Shimmer Sheetz.
The tree is a Peel-Off sticker which I applied to Sookwang tape, which is a really strong adhevise tape good for burnishing glitter to. I then removed each section of the tree at a time and covered each area with various Glitter Ritz glitter. Takes a little while to do but the effect is (I think) amazing.
Side border strip is Spellbinders
Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Holiday Card Workshop Day 9 2

This was a technique taught by Kristina Werner -kind of like a faux metal.
I have done this technique in the past and was happy to visit it again thanks to Kristina.
It is such a fun technique and so very easy to do.
Thanks for having a look and hope you like it too!

Holiday Card Worshop Day 8 1

This is my version of Jennifer's class today for a photo ornament card (minus the photo).
Used scalloped Spellbinders dies for the large circles. The ornament is from Marianne Creatables LR0184 which is a set of 2 ornaments.
Added some punched holly and embellished the ornament with pearls and ribbon.
I inadvertenly ran the largest gold circle upside down in the embossing folder giving the effect of the dots indented instead of being raised up.
Also sanded off the dots on the top gold circle so they would come out white.

Holiday Card Worshop Day 7 1

Used the Impression Obsession CC100 Birch Trees background stamp.
Overstamped with various snowflakes.
Sentiment is from Hero Arts.
Added some crystal glitter to resemble snow.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas by Craftin' Judy
Merry Christmas, a photo by Craftin' Judy on Flickr.

This is for Day 6 of the Holiday Card Workshop design by Shari Carroll.
I didn't have a very big star so I made 3 small ones instead. As I also don't own any distress markers I stamped various distress inks on my craft sheet and blended with a brush and a little water. Same type of effect I think!
Supplies used:
Hero Arts CG324 Holiday Background stamped with Color Box Olive Pastel Chalk Ink.
Star stamp is HSH322D from http://www.heathersstamping.com (a store here in Ottawa, Canada that I frequent).
White snowflake strip from the Cuttlebug Winter Wonderland Set.
Spellbinders Labels Four for the die cut at the bottom of each strip.
Sentiment is from the same large background stamp. What I did here was ink up the words with a black marker and stamped on the strip of green. (You can see the same words just to the left of my green strip).
Added a gemstone to each centre star and some for added sparkle.
Hope you like my version. Thanks Shari for being such a great teacher!

Holiday Card Workshop Bonus Day 1 1

For this card I didn't have any ornament dies (what you say!) to use so I kind of created my own.
I used Peel-Off's, mounted then on cardstock and coloured them with various distress inks.
Added a scalloped die cut border some wide ribbon and the sentiment.
The ornaments are hanging from glittzy ribbon and topped off with some glittzy gemstones

Holiday Card Workshop Day 5 2

Used the Swiss dots embossing folder for the background. Bold Pop Design Set (HA-657851) for the flowers which were clear embossed then die-cut. Added the sentiment, a strip of red glitter paper and pearls and gold glitter paper to the centres.

Holiday Care Workshop - Day 5 1

Used the HA large holly background stamp with Versamark.
Stamped the tag on dark green cardstock and used Duo Green Yellow perfect pearls over top.
Added some decorative paper and a sparkly button with twine.

Online card classes Day 3 2

This was for Day 3 of the Online card classes.
The background was done using the Scor-Pal and inked with Barn Door distress ink.
The ornaments are from a clear set by Bonnidee (which is a local stamp store). The sentiment is from Craft Smart (Michaels) which is white embossed. Added some glossy accents to the stars, and punched branches.

Online card classes Day 3 3

Online card classes Day 3 2jpg

Now this was a really fun card to make in Day 3 of the online classes. The centre was embossed using the new Sizzix/Hero Arts embossing folder Christmas Words.
I embossed the card and cut out only a section of the words that I wanted to use, then added some colour with a Tombow marker (I don't yet own any Copics) key word there is yet!!!
Then I covered over that with a thin layer of Dreamweaver Translucent embossing paste.
Die cut 2 snowflakes with sookwang sticky paper and covered with different colour glitter powder. The red strip panel down the middle is from the Penny Black Madison Paper Pack.
I hope you enjoy looking at this card as much as I enjoyed making it.
Thanks for stopping by!
