O, Happy Day!

Hello everyone,

I know this post is a little premature seeing as the holiday for our neighbours to the south isn't until this Friday but I wanted to share a card that I had created for our HA Flickr group scramble that we did last Saturday. The theme was to use stars of any shape or kind and of course any Hero Arts stamp/die etc.
I first stamped the large 'happy' background stamp in red, blue and clear ink. The red and blue inks were clear embossed and the middle section embossed with silver embossing powder.
I die cut the various sizes of stars with different colours of cardstock and then pieced them together.
This took quite a bit of time seeing we only had 90 mins to create the card. It was close but nevertheless this is the finished result.
I supposed I could have created a similar card for our July 1st holiday but in red and white only. Oh well this one will have to do for both.
So enjoy your day on the 4th everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day

Hi everyone,

I want to wish a happy Father's Day to all the great Dads out there celebrating their special day.
This card was created for my hubby (even though he is a woodworker) and also I decided to enter it in the current Nautical theme challenge at http://thecardconcept.blogspot.ca

I used some patterned paper for the background to which I distressed the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.
The compass is actually from the World Travel stamp set by Rubber Stampede which I think I purchased ages and ages ago I believe when I first started stamping. I embossed it in gold for some added texture - sort of like a seal!
Added the sentiment from BoBunny stamps, three little metallic accents from Hero Arts and some twine (rope).

Thanks for stopping by,

Judy

Shine bright again

Hi everyone,

Finally it's the weekend and the end to what seemed to be a very long week. Ugh!
I thought I would share a card that I created for the current Wednesday challenge at http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/ where the challenge is to use a stencil.
As they are showcasing products from The Crafter's Workshop stencils that is exactly what I chose.
I started out by masking off each section of the stencil one by one and adding various ink colours.
When I was finished I thought that it looked a little plain so I decided to lay down a strip of stitching between the sections using a die from Die-namics from MFT.
I then offset the whole card with a couple of strips of black cardstock for a little pop of colour and some black rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look and enjoy your weekend.

Supplies used:
The Crafter's Workshop Mini Palms stencil
My Favorite Things Die-namics Blueprint 13
Hero Arts neon ink cubes
Tsukineko Sunflower Yellow Brilliance ink
Pink Paislee sentiment from the Hello Sunshine stamp/die set

Shine Bright

Hi everyone,

I made this card this morning for the current challenge at http://casology.blogspot.ca where the theme is 'Shine'.
I used a stencil which I masked into a circle and applied gold embossing powder. After the powder was heat set I then applied ink to the open spaces. I decided that there wasn't much of a definition to the circle so I punched it with a scallop punch to give it a nice edge detail.
Popped up the whole card, added the sentiment and some crystal rhinestone embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by,

Judy
