Ghoul's night out

Hi everyone,

I am just loving the new release this week from Lawn Fawn so when my order came in I couldn't wait to play with some of the new stamps and dies. This card was created using the new set called Booyah. Soooo much fun!!!!

I first started by creating a couple of different masks using their Puffy Cloud borders die set . I applied distress ink with my ink blending tool interchanging the masks as I moved each mask down the card as I created the background. I applied the ink heavier in some spots and a little lighter in others until I had the desired effect.

Next I moved onto creating my cute little ghosts by adding a little shading to each of them with a grey Copic marker. Die cut the different hats and accessories to go with each ghost and coloured them with Copics also.
Stamped the cute sentiment with white embossing powder on vellum and used one of the cloud dies to cut it out.
Once the whole card was assembled I decided to add some little stars from the set with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. Maybe they are a little hard to see but they do add a little accent to the card base. Well I guess I couldn't quite leave it alone so I added some flicks of water and some washi tape across the bottom of the card.

Well that's it. This set is so versatile and mixes and matches with the other Lawn Fawn sets.

Stay tuned for more projects using some of the new products from this release.

Thanks for stopping by!

wishing we lived closer

Hi there,

I must say that I have never been one to use too many soft pastel colours on my cards. Well that changed this week with the current SSS Flickr challenge #26 to Play with Pastels.

The sentiment is for my daughter and fiance who just left after visiting for a week. I miss them!

Here's my card:

I pulled out a Color Box queue ink set called Rainbow Sherbet. The colours are nice and soft and perfect for this card.

I used a stencil and daubers to apply the different colours for the background. When I was happy with that I stamped the sentiment in black ink. The whole panel was die cut using a large rectangle die. I created the sentiment by scribbling a Copic marker onto some cardstock and then cutting out the die. I cut the sentiment again but this time from some fun foam to give it some added dimension.I thought that it still needed a little extra something so I ran a piece of washi tape across the bottom of the panel

Added a light blue pearl and that's it. Card is done!!

smile

Hi there,

Just popping in to share a card that I created for the current sketch challenge here.
Here's the sketch

and here's my card

I started out by cutting the green panel to the desired shape and thought it would add a little interest so I created a border to highlight my sentiment by die cutting the lower edge using a stitched border die.
The sentiment was created by colouring a piece of white cardstock with 2 different Copic colours. I then die cut the sentiment so the top portion would have the colours and then applied clear embossing ink to the lower portion and added some glitter embossing powder.
I die cut the butterfly with white vellum and then coloured the backside with Copics here and there as to not colour the whole back. It sort of gives a little splotchy effect.

Well that's it.

Thanks for stopping,

Judy

Happy thoughts

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share that I created for these 2 challenges:

Here's my card:

I stamped the large background using a Versamark ink pad but it came out a little pinky. As it turns out I didn't quite clean my stamp very well the last time I used it. I thought that it might look nice as a subtle background so I left it the way it came out and heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder.
I then stamped and die cut the crayon and coloured it with Copics and added some glossy accents to the label part.
Die cut the sentiment panel with black card stock using a stitched die and stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat set with some white embossing powder.
I added a few sequins and that's it.

Judy

Have a Ball!

Hi everyone,

With just a couple of hours left in the challenge at  Lawnscaping here

I thought I would share my card.

I must explain that I had the matching stamp set to this die at my local stamp store to be picked up but I didn't have wheels today so I was out of luck.
I did however have the die to go with the stamp set "Colour My World" so used that instead.
I started by die cutting the crayon 5 times and with the card stock still in the die coloured each one individually with Copics. I added a line at the top and bottom of each crayon with a fine tip black marker.
Added the faces to each crayon using the Sweet Smiles stamp set.
Die cut a border using the Lawn Fawn Cloudy Borders die and another strip with LF papers.
Stamped the sentiment also from the Sweet Smiles set and added some LF twine.

Well there you have it. It would have been much simpler if I had actually had the stamp set. Oh well I made due.

Just a quick post to share a card that I created for the current challenge Strip Down challenge at One-Layer Simplicity here:

This is the card by Karen Dunbrook:

This is my card:

Sorry about the photo but I seem to be having a few photo taking issues lately.
Anyways I used a Hero Arts stamp for the flowers and stamped and masked them off using different ink colours. Added a little butterfly also from the same set HA set and stamped the sentiment from SSS in black ink.

You will be missed

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card that I created for the current Tag You're It Challenge here

Here's my card:

I used a stencil for the background and applied several different distress inks directly to the card base. I then added a small tag which I had embossed using a dot embossing folder, added a few splashes of gold ink and added some dark brown ink to the edges.
I applied different distress inks to a piece of white cardstock and then die cut them out for the leaves.
Added the sentiment stamped in brown ink, some twine to the tag and applied 3 little raindrop accents. That's it!

Judy

Sailing anyone!

Hi there,

Last week I received some new dies from Simon Says Stamp - the Sailboat die and the Sunshine die.
I couldn't wait to use them so I created this card:

I first started by applying three different colours of blue distress inks to my cardstock. When I was happy with the blending I used a Spellbinders die to cut out 3 sets of waves. I then used a stencil to apply the sunshine rays to my card. The sun was cut using a circle stitched die.
I popped up the waves with some foam tape and then ran the whole piece through my Cuttlebug using a stitched die from SSS.

I die cut the sailboat and applied Wink of Stella to the sails and Glossy accents to the base of the boat. I then added different Copic colours to a piece of cardstock and die cut the sunshine piece.

When all was done I added some water droplets to the waves and tucked a few sequins in behind the waves to make it look like they were buoys lol!

Judy
