Snowfllake

Hi everyone,

Today's card is one that I created using a large snowflake die from Impression Obsession.

I started by blending the background using 3 different Distress inks.  From the bottom, Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers and then Cracked Pistachio. I then die cut the whole panel with a stitched rectangle die aand dded some splatters of white paint and set aside to dry.

I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock and white heat embossed. As the snowflake die actually comes apart in 4 pieces I used the largest die cut piece to use as the focal point. Adhered that with some tape and that's it for my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fun with Sunny Studio stamps and dies

Hi everyone,

I had so much fun creating these Christmas cards using Sunny Studios stamps and dies that I just had to share them all here.

Unfortunately the glitter doesn't show through as nicely as it does in real life on cards 1, 5 & 6. The first card has gold, the fifth card is red and the sixth card is green. They are actually oh so sparkly!

The one thing that I didn't do when I created some of the cards below is write down the colour combinations that I used on those specific cards. Lesson learned for next time :)

Here goes:

Thanks for stopping by to have a look.

Lawn Fawn Christmas

Hi everyone,

I have a fun card to share that I created using a SSS stencil and some embossing paste and Lawn Fawn stamps and sentiment.

I started by using a large stitched rectangle die to cut the base layer and applied a stencil and some snow embossing paste to add the snow to the background. I die cut 2 snow hills using some stitched hillside borders.

Stamped all the elements to my card and coloured them with Copics.

I masked off where the 2 hills would be placed and then applied some Broken China Distress oxide ink to the top of both of the hills.

Layered the hills with foam tape and then started to create my scene.

Added some Glossy Accents, Wink of Stella and some Liquid Applique to the Santa hats.

Well that's it for this card and thanks for stopping by.

sending Christmas Joy

Hi everyone.

Today I have a card to share that I created using a fun Mama Elephant stamp set that I won from them called Whimsical Winter. It's adorable!

I didn't have the matching die set so I decided to make this a one layer card by doing a little masking.

I started by stamping the deer and rabbit and then colouring them in with Copics. I stamped each image again onto some masking paper and then covered over my images. I then blended some distress ink over two thirds of the panel. I then took my Misti and with the masks in place stamped the tree over top,

Added the sentiment at the top, a few sequins and a red pompon for the deer's nose and that's it for this very easy card.

Thanks for stopping by,

Foil snowflakes

Hi everyone,

Today I have another very quick foil card using Gina K Foil-Mates call Blizzard.

The quality of the photo isn't the best but I was trying to capture all the lovely glitter of the background.

I used Deco Foil Silver Star and the Foil-Mate run through my laminator to create my background piece. This was then die cut using a Zig Zag rectangle die.

The black background was die cut using a stitched rectangle die and the word Joy was die cut with the same black cardstock.

I popped up the whole panel with foam tape, added the sentiment directly onto the snowflake background and gave it a good coating of clear Wink of Stella.

Well, pretty simple but that's my card for today and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

Gina K Foil-Mates - Blizzard
Deco Foil Silver Star transfer sheets
SSS Stitched Rectangle die set
Lawn Fawn Zig Zag die set

Love from our home to yours

Hi everyone,

Well I guess we have all been busy shopping at some of the great crafty sales this past weekend. I know I did.

I have a card today to share that I created using some Lawn Fawn products and also a stencil from Simon Says Stamp. I am also entering this in the lawnfawnatics challenge here and also Simon Says Stamp current flickr challenge.

I started my card by first die cutting the white panel using a Wonky Stitched rectangle die.
After that was done I added my stencil and applied some embossing paste that has a bit of glitter in it.

I set that aside to dry and went on to creating my scene. All the images were stamped with black ink and then coloured with Copics. The hillside was die cut from a piece of light blue cardstock which I had previously stamped with a large background stamp from Hero Arts and then stamped the sentiments.

I layered a piece of patterned paper to my entire card base and adhered the panel with foam tape. I added some of the pieces with foam tape and some were adhered flat to the panel.

I did a mirror image stamping technique so that I could get the smoke from the chimneys in two different directions. My Mirror Image stamp is one that I have had for a very long time from Rubber Stampede.

Some Liquid Applique was applied to the roof tops and Stickles and Liquid Pearls to the trees.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Foil Christmas card

Hi everyone,

I have a card today created using a Gina K new Foil Mate called Holiday Flora.

This is a new technique to me so it meant that I had to buy a laminator which I did from Costco for CAD $49.99. The Royal Sovereign to be precise. It's a great tool and I'm sure this card will be the first of many foiled cards.

I used a Deco Foil transfer sheet called Emerald Watercolor for the background. I just love the different colours it created on my card even more so in real life when you see it up close. I tried to capture some of the beautiful colours with my photo.
I die cut a piece of Lawn Fawn patterned paper to create a frame using a Stitched Scalloped die and the main panel was also cut using the same die.

I added the frame to a plain white card base and then popped up the panel with some foam tape.
The sentiment was die cut with green glitter cardstock and then adhered to the panel.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

Gina K Foil Mates Holiday Flora
Deco Foil Emerald Watercolor
MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frame
MFT Dienamics Merry Christmas die
Lawn Fawn Snow Day 6x6 petite paper pack
Glitter cardstock

Holiday Style Christmas cards

Hi everyone,

Today I have 3 cards that I created in 3 different colours using the Sunny Studio Stamp set called Holiday Style and also the the Silver Bell die.

My first card was stamped with Lobster Dye ink from Lawn Fawn. The bell was die cut from some shiny red cardstock. The background paper is from Lawn Fawn.

My second card is done with Simon Says Stamp Scuba ink and turquoise blue shiny cardstock for the bell. The background paper is from Lawn Fawn.

My third card was stamped with Hero Arts Soft Sand shadow ink and gold metallic cardstock for the bell. The background paper is also from Lawn Fawn.

The pine bough on each card was stamped using my Misti, first with the each colour that I had chosen and then stamped a second time with Versamark ink over top so that I could heat emboss the bough with sparkle embossing powder. Each panel was die cut using a Stitched Rectangle die. I used a mini dauber to blend a little colour over each pine bough and also around the edges of each panel. Each bell was strung using gold and silver metallic thread.

Hard to see from the photos but there is really a lot of sparkle to the pine bough of each card.

Well that's it for these cards and thanks for stopping by.

Sequin Christmas

Hi everyone,

I have a card today that I created using a new Neat and Tangled die.

I started by blending Peacock Feathers Oxide distress ink onto the background panel. Once the colour was all blended I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Neat and Tangled cover plate die.

I wanted a little sparkle around the edges of my card base so I added some Versamark ink and some Psychedelic glitter embossing powder (company unkown as I have had it for a long time).

Once I had adhered the panel to the base card I then started to add sequins in all different sizes into each hole.

I embossed a small piece of cardstock with the same glitter and die cut the merry sentiment die.
Stamped the Christmas sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder.

Well that's it for this card and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

Neat and Tangled Falling Circles die cover plate
Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy, Happy add-on stamp set and die
Distress Oxide ink - Peacock Feathers
Neat and Tangled sequins
Psychedelic embossing powder (company unknown)

Holiday Greetings

Happy Monday everyone,

I have a card to share today that I created for the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge here

I chose the Lawn Fawn Winter Fox stamp and die for my card which is from one of their 2011 releases.

I coloured the fox using Copics and added some Nuvo Crystal drops to the mug and a little Liquid Applique to the tip of his tale.

The background was created by blending 3 different distress inks and die cut that panel using a large stitched rectangle die.
I die cut mini snowflakes from white cardstock and adhered them to the card with a little Tombow Mono glue, mounted the fox with a little foam tape and stamped my sentiment.

The base of the card was done with a SSS stencil and some Festive Berries distress ink. I applied the ink only to the edges with a mini dauber and not the whole card base. I thought the bright red stripes were a nice contrast.

I adhered the whole panel with foam tape and that finishes my card.

Thanks for stopping by,

Supplies:

Lawn Fawn sentiment from Winter Village stamp set
SSS Diagonal Stripe Stencil

Christmas tag

Hi everyone,

Today I have a tag that I created for 2 challenges. The first one is the SSS Wednesday Challenge here to create a Christmas gift tag and also for Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of
ChristmasTags here

Here's my tag:

I started out by diecutting a circle from a SSS stitched circle die using white cardstock and then applied a Tim Holtz stencil to it. I blended in various Distress ink colours using a mini dauber over the stencil.

I then moved onto diecutting the sentiment also from SSS 3 times. I layered the red cardstock sentiment slightly offset over a black die cut sentiment piece. I purposely left in the little pieces in the letters of the sentiment so that I would not have any white pieces of cardstock showing through the letters.

I die cut a piece of glitter red cardstock using a Lawn Fawn large stitched circle.  Layered the stencilled piece onto the glitter cardstock using some Sookwang double sided tape. As this is quite strong tape I wanted to make sure it would stick to the glitter cardstock. I also cut a stitched circle from some white cardstock and adhered that to the back of the tag so you can write a to and from on the back if attaching to a gift or a bottle of wine or whatever.

I added a little clear Wink of Stella to the sentiment and some decorative ribbon to the top and that completes this tag.

Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

SSS Merry Christmas die
SSS Stitched Circles die set
Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Circle die set
Tim Holtz Festive stencil
Distress Oxide ink - Candied Apple
Distress Inks - Wild Honey, Gathered Twigs, Mowed Lawn
Red Glitter cardstock
Wink of Stella - clear
Decorative ribbon

It's Christmas time again

Hi everyone,

I have to admit that I only recently have been purchasing Neat and Tangled stamps and dies and I must say that I absolutely love them. So fun!

Today's card is for the current challenge Neat and Tangled Sketch challenge here

I actually won the cute little stamp and die set called Get Yeti that I used for my card.

I started by creating the frame and the background for my card. I used 2 Lawn Fawn frames together to die cut the frame and the background from white cardstock at the same time.
For the inside frame I blended 2 different distress inks - Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar. Stamped the snow hills and snowflakes and heat embossed using white embossing powder. Sprinkled a few drops of water over the piece.

On the outside frame I used a distress Cracked Pistachio oxide ink and blended it over the entire frame piece.

Added the frame and the background piece to a  white cardbase.
The snowman and critters were coloured with Copics and clear Wink of Stella was added to the hat, scarf and the little birdie.
I added a touch of black enamel accent to the nose and eyes of the reindeer doggie.

Stamped the sentiment and popped up the little guys with foam tape and added a few clear sequins.

That's it for this card and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

Neat and Tangled Get Yeti stamp and die set
Lawn Fawn Cross-Stitched Rectangle die set
Distress Inks - Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar

Crayons

Hi everyone,
Today's card is for the current photo inspiration Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp here using Paper Smooches products.

I used the colours from their post and combined them with some Lawn Fawn products and a Paper Smooches sentiment die.

I stamped the crayons with black ink and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder. I then coloured them using 3 different colour of Copic markers. The sentiment was a die cut that I taped to my panel and then used Distress Oxide ink to colour it in using a sponge dauber.

The background patterned panel was die cut using a small dotted rectangle die and the same for the white panel.

I added the crayons to my card using foam tape and drew a little squiggle line down towards the sentiment using the same Copic colours that I had applied to each crayon.

The patterned panel was applied using adhesive directly to a yellow card base. I popped the white panel up with some foam tape and added little black dots around my sentiment using black enamel accents.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies used:
Paper Smooches Birthday Words FBD120
Lawn Fawn small dotted rectangle die set
Lawn Fawn Color my World stamp and die set

Celebrate you

Hi everyone,

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. We spent a fantastic, beautiful few days in North Conway, NH where the weather was absolutely beautiful and the leaves in certain areas were quite pretty and worth taking lots of pictures.

I'm back now and have a card to share for the current MFT Color challenge here

and also for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where the theme is 'Thinking of You' here

Here's my interpretation:

I started by using a SSS stencil to create the panel for my card. I used 2 different colours of Distress inks and blended the background. I then moved onto the 'celebrate' die cut and blended 2 different shades of blue for this. I die cut the word right into the dotted panel and inlaid the coloured blue word.

I used the Wonky Rectangles die to cut out a panel in yellow and then cut my coloured panel with a smaller die from the same set. To continue with the Wonky theme I thought it would be fun to layer the 2 panels in an off kilter design.

I cut a patterned panel piece to fit the size of my card and adhered that with tape and then also added the yellow panel the same way. My design panel was applied using foam tape.

Added some yellow sequins and it was done.

Well that's it for this card and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil
MFT Die-Namics Celebrate die
MFT Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle die set
Distress Oxide inks - Fossilized Amber & Spiced Marmalade
Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch

Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge 82 - "Fall is in the Air"

Happy Friday everyone,

Well it's time again for a new SSS Flickr challenge here where you will find details on how to play. I do hope you can join in.

I was so exited when Barb asked me to guest design for this challenge where the theme is "Fall is in the Air". This was so perfect for me as this is my favourite time of the year. I created 3 cards for this and decided to work Fall colours into all of my cards.

For my first card I used the SSS Clustered Leaves die as my focal point.

I started by creating a watercolour pallette on my craft sheet using Distress inks in Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin and Shabby Shutters. I spritzed some water over each colour and then took a piece of watercolour cardstock and pressed that down over the colours. Once I was happy with the blend I die cut the leaf die from it. Set that aside and went onto creating my background piece. I used a SSS Stitched Rectangle die to emboss the edges of my card and added some gold drops using a metallic shimmer spray. I popped up the leaf die cut piece with small pieces of foam tape adhered behind each leaf to give it some dimension then added some clear Wink of Stella to each leaf to give it a little touch sparkle.

I then die cut the hello sentiment from some black cardstock and added that to the centre of my card adhering it with some Tombow Mono glue.

Here's card #2.

For this card I used the SSS Full Card Triangles die and cut this from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.
I kept all the little pieces that fell out from the die and saved them for later.
I took a piece of white cardstock and carefully masked off strips of colour using a combination of Distress and Distress Oxide inks so that they would line up with the die cover piece once I added it to the front of my card.
From the top of my card this is the order of colours - Distress Spiced Marmalade, Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber, Distress Oxide Candied Apple, Distress Gathered Twigs, Distress Mustard Seed and finally Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade.
Once I was happy with the total blend of colours I added that piece to a Desert Storm card base.  I then gave the whole panel a little spritz of water to add a little effect. I then carefully laid the die cut piece over the panel making sure everything lined up. Some of the little leftover triangles that I saved earlier where added here and there on the card. Some I laid down flat and some I popped up with a little foam tape.
For my sentiment I used a stamp from the SSS Work Out stamp set, stamped with Versamark ink and embossed it with Gold Detail embossing powder. Added the strip to my card with foam tape. I added a little watercolour leaf using a Lawn Fawn die to which I added some gold Wink of Stella.
I added some Nuvo Crystal drops in Red Berry, Dandelion Yellow and Ripened Pumpkin for a little additonal accents.

Onto card #3.

For this card I used a SSS stencil called Swirls and Dots. I adhered the stencil to a piece of white cardstock and then started to blend in various Distress inks - Squeezed Lemonade, Peeled Paint, Festive Berries, Ripe Persimmon and finally Distress Oxide in Wilted Violet.
While the stencil was still in place I added some Translucent Embossing paste over the top of the whole piece. When dry it gives a nice shiny effect and still allows the colours underneath to show through.
I used a SSS A2 Card Curved Edge die to cut out the bottom piece of my background.
I took a piece of black cardstock cut to the the size I needed to add to my card and then embossed the sentiment from SSS Thanks stamp set with white embossing powder.
I added the coloured panel to the black piece with some foam tape and applied a Nuvo Crystal drop in Dandelion Yellow.

Well that's it for my cards and I hope you have fun creating your own for this challenge and I would like to thank Barb again for inviting me to join in today and thanks to all of you for viewing my cards.

I have listed all the supplies below again for each card.

baaah humbug

Hi everyone,

I have a card today that I am entering in the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge #14 'Happy Little Critters' found here

 Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Badge

Here's my card:

I used an embossing folder to emboss the base of my card. I die cut the tag from white cardstock and stamped the trees in different green colours and then used the tree die to mask off the trees and then blended in the sky colour. The tree mask didn't quite cover the trees entirely but I kind of like the little bit of white left behind.
I die cut the bottom portion of the tag with some patterned paper and then used a stitched border die to cut the top portion so it would line up just below the trees.
The sheep was coloured with Copics.
I added some white glitter to the tree bases to add a little sparkle.
I curved the sentiment on my stamping block so it would line up with the curve of the bottom of the tag and stamped it with black ink. I popped up the tag and the sheep with foam tape.
Added some Doodlebug twine to the top of the tag.

Well that's it for my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Give thanks

Hi everyone,

It's a beautiful hot summer's day here with a temperature of 31 Celsius. Love it. Although it still feels like summer I seem to be in the mode for making cards with fall colours.

Here's one for Day 13 of Kathy Racoosin's thedailymarker30day challenge here.

I started by watercolouring some leaves with various colours of Distress inks.
For the background of my card I used an embossing folder aptly called leaves. I die cut that piece with a large stitched rectangle die and the banner piece was also die cut from that same rectangle die.
I then layered that onto my Desert Storm cardstock which I embossed using again the same rectangle die.

I couldn't find the Hero Arts stamp that I was looking for to stamp my sentiment so I used a sticker that I had. I know, I know that sounds a little different but it's hard to tell that it wasn't stamped.

Popped up the leaves and the sentiment piece with foam dots and added some twine and crystal drops for a little accent.

That's it for this card and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die
Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves
QuicKutz Lifestyle Crafts Leaves embossing folder
Distress Inks
Nuvo Crystal drops - Ripened Pumpkin

sending you Hugs

Hi everyone,

Happy Labour Day if you are lucky enough to be enjoying one.

I have a card for Day 2 of Kathy Racoosin's 30 day colouring challenge here.

I used a Hero Arts large background stamp for the base of my card. First I stamped the background with Versamark and heat embossed with SSS white embossing powder and coloured it in using some different Zig markers. I die cut the whole panel with a large stitched rectangle die and then used another die to cut out a portion of the middle.

I used the large Hug die and cut it out in black and also white cardstock and added some clear Wink of Stella to the black piece for a little sparkle. Glued the two pieces together but slightly offset them.

Layered the panel up with some foam tape and did the same with the large word die cut. Added the whole panel and Hugs die cut to a Neenah desert storm card base and ran a strip of gold glitter tape behind for a little accent.

That's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Painted thank you

Hi everyone,

Today's card is for the current SSSflickrchallenge where the theme is Dots &/or Stripes. I chose to
add a little of both on my card.

I started by creating my background using 3 different colours of Distress inks and a SSS stencil.
Once I had blended the colours I decided to use 2 sizes of SSS stitched rectangle dies to create the frame for my sentiment. I can keep the middle leftover piece for another project.
I stamped the Concord & 9th bold sentiment (which I just love) with black ink and added a little accent to the panel from the same stamp set.
Added a couple of splatters and layered the frame against some polka dot patterned paper onto my card base.
There you have it. That's my card.

Hello friend

Hi everyone,

I guess I am just enjoying this summer a little too much as I don't seem to be in the frame of mind for too much cardmaking. Like to be outdoors a lot :)
Well I did get a chance to use my new Distress Oxide inks to create this card though.

I started by stamping the flower image and embossing with white embossing powder. I then blended 3 different ink colours onto the flower. When I was happy with the colour blending I added some water splatters.
I then die cut the whole panel using a Wonky stitched rectangle die.
Next I moved onto to creating the sentiment with a SSS hello die using black cardstock and die cut another out of black foam and adhered the two together. Stamped friend on black cardstock and embossed in white.
Added the whole panel to a black panel and then adhered to my card base. I then added some Nuvo crystal drops for a little accent and that's my card for today.

#Friends #Selfie shaker card

Hi everyone,

Well it's another hot, humid beautiful day here after quite a thunderstorm last night. The air conditioning is off, the windows are open and the wonderful summer breeze is blowing through the house quite freely. Love it!

Today's card I am sharing is for the Simon Says Stamp 'Splatter It' challenge here.

I used a couple of fairly new Lawn Fawn stamp and die sets and some distress ink to create my shaker card.

I created the frame using the SSS stitched rectangle die set to frame my selfie photo. Used some plaid paper to die cut the selfie frame.
The background piece was done blending some distress inks together.
Stamped the elephant and mouse and coloured with Copics.

Arranged the frame pieces, added some tiny glass beads and then added the frame with some foam tape to create the shaker. Before that I added some splatter with teal spray.

Thanks for stopping by.

Aloha!

Hi everyone,

Well it's been a while since my last post. Have been working on the kitchen, had a mini vacation and just enjoying the summer although the weather has not been very nice at all. As a matter of fact there is a lovely thunder shower going on right now. The tile guy is in the kitchen installing the backsplash (which is the final touch in my complete new kitchen) so hubby has gone to pick up some lunch.

In the meantime I have a card to share using some new Lawn Fawn products.

Watercolured the background piece in 2 different colours and added some Pearl shimmer. I then used an embossing folder to add a little texture. I think it looks like waves.
Die cut the Aloha 3 times and the palm tree top and layered the whole panel on to some patterned paper.
Added some finishing touches with Nuvo accents.

Congratulations

Hi everyone,

Today's card was created using a SSS stencil for the background and 2 different Altenew stamp and die sets.

I started by creating my background using the Diagonal stripe stencil from Simon Says Stamp and 2 different distress inks.
I taped the stencil to my work surface and applied one colour first then turned the stencil once and created the other colour of stripes going in the opposite direction. Die cut the whole panel with a wonky rectangle die.

Stamped and die cut the leafs with different green inks. Stamped and die cut the flower and coloured with Copics. I then added some little white dots to the flower with a gel pen.

The sentiment was stamped and die cut. Added some green accents with Nuvo crystal drops to my card and Wink of Stella to the flower.

Well that's it for today.
