Holiday Hello

Hi everyone,

Just stopping in to share a card I created for the Holidays. This is the first time I have used this plaid background stamp and I just love the results.

I started by creating my background with this great Plaid background stamp from Concord & 9th and red ink. The gold lines were done with gold metallic ink.

I distressed the edges of the background piece using a Tim Holtz distressing tool.

The poinsettia and leaf were die cut with Spellbinders dies and the edges were tipped with a gold metallic pen.

Stamped the Simon Says Stamp sentiment onto black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I foam mounted the background panel onto a piece of black cardstock and added all the elements of my card. A little gold gem was added to the centre of the poinsettia.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Concord & 9th Plaid Background stamp
Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die
Simon Says Stamp Holiday Hellos stamp set
Tsukineko Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink
Lawn Fawn Lobster red ink

Our Frienship and All I want is Ewe

Hi everyone,

Well Christmas is fast approaching and I really am not prepared at all. I haven't done any baking or bought any presents. I guess I better get on that. I think this weekend might be a baking weekend, at least for my shortbread cookies.

Anyways I have two cards to share using a lot of different products from a bunch of companies.

On my first card I started by creating my stencil background using a stencil from Newton's Nook Designs and some Distress inks.

I then moved onto creating my trees with a Lawn Fawn die and some glitter cardstock and added a little Distress ink to the edges of the birch trees.
Die cut the snow hill using a Lawn Fawn die and added a stickles glitter to the edge of the hill.
The fox and rabbit were coloured with Copics and I added a little Liquid Applique to their tails.

I adhered all the pieces to my card and then used a Simon Says Stamp large stitched rectangle die to add a frame around everything.

I created my second card by blending some Distress ink for the background and die cut the piece with an MFT Die-namics die. The tree border was die cut with a Lawn Fawn die and the trees were coloured with Copics to which I added some Nuvo shimmer to add a little sparkle.

The sheep were coloured with grey tone Copics. I added a red stiched hillside, a little mistletoe sprig, the sentiment and the glitter was added to the whole card using Simon Says Stamp snow stencil.

Well that's it for both of my cards and thanks so much for stopping by.

Little snowmen Christmas

Hi everyone,

I can't believe it's December already and I haven't even begun to think about Christmas. I don't even have any lights outside yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Anyways here's a card I created using some Mama Elephant stamps and a Studio Katia die.

I started by stamping and Copic colouring all the cute little snowmen  and adding Nuvo shimmer pen accents here and there.

I set the stamped images aside and started on my background. I used 2 different colours of Distress inks and blended them onto the piece and adding some water droplets. I used the Dotted Patterns die from Studio Katia to cut out the piece and an embossing folder from Sizzix/Hero Arts was used on the front of a top folded card. I foam mounted the blended die cut piece onto the card and then started to add my little snowmen filling each circle.

The sentiment from Simon Says Stamp was silver glitter embossed onto small strips of black cardstock. Added the sentiment pieces with foam tape and that completes my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Foil, paste and stencils

Hi everyone,

Well I haven't been here to post for a while as it seems that I have pulled some muscles in my upper back/shoulder area which is quite painful even to type or craft. This is not good for me as I have been sidelined from exercising which is something I do everyday. Zumba, Pilates, Yoga and Power Walking all on hold. UGH!!!!! Help is on the way though with some physio. Anti-inflammitories and Tylenol are helping out a bit but oh man oh man this is extremely painful. Wish I knew how I did this so I could avoid it in the future.

Anyways I have 2 cards to share that I had previously made before all of this happened using some Newton's Nook Designs products.

I used the Evergreens stencil which is awesome on both of my cards. The first card I started with an aqua panel die cut using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and added my stencil and  applied some Distress grit-paste and before it dried I sprinkled on some glitter. It is super sparkly in real life. Too bad the photo doesn't quite capture all the glitter.

I added some irridescent bubble embellishments from Studio Katia to the first card and layered the panel onto a piece of patterned paper.

On the second card I used some foil for the trees and also used the Petite Snow stencil and some Whipped Spackle for the snow portion of the card above the trees. the panel was die cut first using an MFT Die-namics using a Stitched Rectangle die. I used a mini circle shaker die from MFT die-namics for my sentiment. I adhered a piece of patterned paper to my card base and then added the panel and the sentiment circle.

Well that's it for both of these cards and thanks so much for stopping by.

I started by stamping the images on a white piece of cardstock and coloured them with Copics. Added a couple of trees that were stamped and fussy cut.
The pine piece was die cut 6 times using glitter cardstock.

I adhered all the pine pieces along with some red glitter berries along with a green glitter bow.
Stamped the sentiment and mounted the whole panel onto a black piece of cardstock and then adhered to a Neenah desert storm card.

Added glossy accents to the windows and that's it for this card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Glitter snowflakes

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share using various glitter snowflakes, some ink blending and a snowdrift horizontal die. I thought it would be fun to use this die up and down on the card instead of sideways.

I started by blending my background with Distress inks and adding some water droplets. As I didnt't want to create extra layers on my card I die cut the panel using the horizontal snowdrift die and set the pieces aside.

The frame was die cut out of white cardstock 3times and glued together to add a little depth. I added the frame to my card base and then carefully inserted each of the frame pieces in place.

The snowflakes were die cut using glitter cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in black onto a die cut  tag piece of cardstock from MFT Blueprints 13.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Thanks a bunch

Hi everyone,

I have a card to share today for the current Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp where the theme is 'Thanks/Thanksgiving'. Details can be found here.

I used a new die from a current die set that I had recently purchased from Newton's Nook Designs called Pines & Holly die.

I started my card by diecutting the patterned paper panel using the Wonky Stitched Rectangle die from MFT die-namics.

I then carefully measured where each pine cone should go and proceeded to cut the panel for 5 pine cones. Four with dark brown cardstock and one with gold metallic cardstock.

To create a little added thickness to each of the pine cones I die cut them several times again with white cardstock and adhered several layers together.

The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white vellum and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I wrapped the vellum around each side and adhered it on the back with a little tape.

Each of pine cones were added to the bottom of the card and then I added a few gold sequins for a little more sparkle.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

MFT die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle die set
Lawn Fawn Patterned paper

Lawn Fawn Winter Bunny

Hi everyone,

I have always loved the cute little Winter Bunny from Lawn Fawn but only recently decided to purchase it.

Here's a card I made using it along with some alcohol ink blending and foil for my background.

I die cut a piece of cardstock using a Hero Arts rounded rectangle die. I then applied Flamingo alcohol ink to the piece and using a straw moved the ink around a bit. Before it was dry I added a piece of Silver Star deco foil rubbing it into the piece in different areas.

I love the effect it gives as the foil has a lot of different colours to it so depending on the light you can see them along with the tiny stars in the foil.

I stamped the cute bunny and coloured him/her with Copic markers. Added some white accents here and there using a white gel pen.

The card was embossed using an embossing folder for some snow.

Foam mounted the alcohol ink piece and the bunny. The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added Nuvo shimmer pen all over the sentiment strip to add a little sparkle.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Lawn Fawn Winter Bunny stamp and die
Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together - sentiment
Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle Infinity die set
Sizzix/Hero Arts Textured Impression embossing folder set - Dots
Deco Foil Silver Star
Alcohol Ink - Flamingo

Christmas shaker

Hi everyone,

Today I have a shaker card created using the Merry Christmas Circle Frame die from My Favorite Things.

I used a Simon Says Stamp circle die on my card base to cut a window opening for my shaker.

I die cut the Merry Christmas die from a piece of glitter cardstock that I had made using some glitter embossing powder. The circle centre left over from the die cut piece was added behind my window.

The sentiment die was cut again several times from plain white cardstock and the pieces glued together to give some extra thickness to my sentiment.

I added a piece of red patterned paper for my background cut to fit my card base.

Some Neat and Tangled sequins were added to my shaker. I addeda strip of red glitter cardstock and a strip of patterned paper to the left side of the card.

Well that completes my card for today.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Christmas snow

Hi everyone,

Today I have another to share which I am including in the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge #109 where the theme is to 'Let Your Stencils Shine'.

I started by adhering the Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp and applying some glitter snow paste to only the right side of the stencil so that I could add a curved panel to the left side. It is a shame that you can't see the little glitter sparkle in the snow.

I  die cut the Merry sentiment from some red glitter cardstock and stamped the other part of the sentiment and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I added a strip of black and white washi tape to the left side, adhered my patterned piece of cardstock which was die cut with a curved stitched die and then added both sentiments.

Well that finishes my card for today and thanks so much for stopping by.

Once I had finished applying all the colours to the stencil I ran the piece through my die cutting machine using a stitched border die to add a little interest to the sides of my card.

Stamped the sentiment on a piece of black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder.

I popped the panel onto a red card using foam tape and added the sentiment also with foam tape.

I added some Stickles to the berries and that completes my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Aloha

Hi everyone,

Well Fall is here and it's my favourite time of the year. There's a slight chill in the air and the leaves are slowly starting to change colours.

Our daughter recently moved to Hawaii where the temperature is still quite hot and the palm leaves blow in the wind. I made this card with her in mind.

I used a Newton's Nook stencil and a couple of ink colours to create the background which I ran through my die cutting machine to add the border around the card.

I stamped the sweet little Mama Elephant monkeys and coloured them using Copics. I didn't purchase the die set so I had to fussy cut the images.

The Lawn Fawn sentiment was die cut with green cardstock and also a piece of dark brown glitter cardstock to add a little accent behind the die piece.

The whole panel was mounted onto a green card base using a sheet of foam.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

WOW You amaze me!

Hi everyone,

Well it's an incredibly rainy, windy day here so I am in my craft room and have a card to share that I created using some Alcohol inks which I absolutely love. They are a bit messy (rubber gloves recommended) but are so much fun and the results are awesome every time.

I blended 2 different colours on a panel of Yupo paper. I used a Mama Elephant window cover die on a piece of yellow cardstock and foam mounted it over my ink blended background piece. I die cut the WOW sentiment using a MFT die-namics die 3 times and applied it to the background slightly offsetting the bottom layer of white so as to create a shadow effect.

The Simon Says Stamp sentiment was stamped in black ink and heat embossed using some clear embossing powder.

I added some sparkly embellishments and that's it for my card.

Back to school

Hi everyone,

I have been a little MIA lately. Have a lot going on. My daughter just moved to Hawaii to start a new life with her fiance and we are having work done at the house. New front stairs and a new walkway to be precise. My garden has taken a bit of a beating but there's always next year. It will all be worth it to see the finished job.

Anyways I do have a card to share for the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp where the theme is 'Back to School'. Details here.

Here's my card.

I started by creating the blackboard base to my card. I rubbed white ink over the black piece of cardstock to make it look like eraser marks then added a strip of metallic silver washi tape to the top and bottom of the piece and added it to my card.

I stamped the 5 sentiments and the Be die from Simon Says Stamp was die cut with black fun foam.

The little birdie was stamped and die cut using Lawn Fawn products.

The Mom's Notes sentiment was stamped using a Stampendous stamp set.

Hello friend

Hi everyone,

Today's card is for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where the theme is Red, White and Blue. Details on their blog here.

This would have been a perfect card for the 4th of July in the US. Oh well, I am a little late.
I used a technique by Jennifer McGuire that she calls Paint Dragging. You can find this on her Youtube channel.

I started by applying drops of red, white and blue acrylic paint to a large smooth 12 x 12 ceramic tile (Jennifer uses the glass media mat from Tim Holtz). My tile worked quite well actually.

I dragged the colours onto a plain piece of white cardstock. Once dry I ran the piece through my diecutting machine using a Studio Katia die. I set the circles aside in the order that they were cut it and then dry embossed another piece of cardstock using the same die. I wanted to have the detail of the die show up. Before I added this piece to my card base I applied some black ink to the edges of the card using black ink and a sponge dauber.

I then placed all the circles into their appropriate spaces. Added a hello die cut from black craft foam, stamped the sentiment and added some clear circle embellishments.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Studio Katia Dotted Patterns: Loops die
Simon Says Stamp small hello die
Avery Elle Ellie stamp set
Pretty Pink Posh clear round crystals

I have a couple of cards to share that I created using the fun stamps and dies from Sunny Studio Stamps. I just love the realistic effect of these stamps. They all look good enough to eat!

For my first card I used the Sunny Studio Two Scoops stamp and die set.
I stamped the ice cream scoops and cones in 3 different ink colours and gave each of the scoops a bit of Wink of Stella sparkle.
I die cut a frame from some patterened paper and foam mounted the cones to a background of Lawn Fawn paper. Added the sentiment to complete this card.

For my second card I used the Sunny Studio Berry Bliss stamp and die set. I embossed the base of the card with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used a MFT Die-namics frame die and some patterned paper to make the frame. Added white squares behind each raspberry and popped them up with some foam tape. Stamped the sentiment and that's it for this card.

Sunshine

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share using a stencil and 2 different colours of ink.
I am also entering this in both the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge here and their Flickrchallenge #100. Both have the 'Anything Goes' theme.

I started by placing my stencil and blending the yellow ink. I then rotated the stencil slightly and then applied the orange ink. Before the ink dried I added some clear embossing powder and heat set.

The popsicle was previously made. All I had to do was die cut the sentiment with black cardstock.

I added some detail to the base of the card by running it through my die cut machine with a dotted rectangle die.

I added foam tape to the popsicle and and foam tape to the stenciled background and then added the sentiment.

Well that's it for my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
