Heartfelt thanks

Hi everyone,

Today's card was created using Alcohol inks for the background and I am also entering it into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where the theme is 'Make your own background' here and the SSS Flickrchallenge where the theme is 'Anything Goes'.

Alcohol inks seem to be making a huge comeback. The results are beautiful even though the inks and blending solution are a little stinky.

I blended only 2 colours for the background and then decided to add some white Snow Cap Mixative alcohol drops to it. I guess I didn't shake the bottle enough to mix it up and what happened was I was left with some clear circles and white circles here and there. I decided to heat emboss it and it actually raised up the circles a little bit. Kind of gave the whole background a neat effect.

Once I was finished with the background I embossed the card base using 2 different sizes of rectangle stitched dies.

The die sentiment was cut 4 times and layered one on top of the other. I coloured the die piece using a Copic marker and added some clear Wink of Stella.

The stamped sentiment was embossed onto black cardstock with white embossing powder.

I layered the whole panel onto a piece of foam and adhered to the base.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Floral Celebrate

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share created for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to "Add a die cut" and the details of the challenge can be found here and also the SSS Flickrchallenge #91 where the theme is 'Anything Goes'.

I started by stamping a large Hero Arts background with Versamark ink and then heat embossing with white embossing powder.

Then I  my blended my background using 2 different colours of Distress Oxide inks and added a few water splatters. I used a large rectangle scalloped rectangle die to cut it out.

I moved onto making the sentiment using some Deco Foil and my laminator. Die cut a few of the sentiments and stacked them up to add some dimension to the sentiment.

The base of the card was embossed using a large stitched rectangle die.

I added foam tape to the background piece and adhered the sentiment with some glue and added a few accents with Nuvo Crystal drops.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

love you lots

Hi everyone,

Today's card was done with a little masking and a Mama Elephant stamp set and for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge here and for their Flickr challenge "Love/Hearts".

I used the tiny separate little rose stamp that came with the Mama Elephant Organic Blooms stamp set. Stamped it once and stamped it again onto some masking paper. Masked the original centre image and stamped it again to the left and to the right of the first stamping.

Coloured it with Copic markers and die cut it with a stitched circular die. Used a larger circle and die cut a piece of pink cardstock.

Used a Stitched Woodgrain die for the base of my card. The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder.

Added a strip of pink cardstock down each side of my card, added the panel and popped the rose circle and sentiment up with some foam tape.

Finished it off with some Nuvo crystal drops for some accent.

Well that's if for this card and thanks for stopping by.

love you both

Hi everyone,

I have a card to share for 2 Simon Says Stamp challenges. The Wednesday 'Love is in the Air" challenge here and also the SSS Flickrchallenge #89 where the theme is "Love/Hearts.

I started by creating  my watercolour background using Peerless Watercolour in Rose Red on a piece of Tim Holtz Distress watercolour cardstock. I then added little flicks of Pearl Ex-Press watercolour to give it a little shine. I then moved onto diecutting the love from the centre of the piece. I die cut it 4 or 5 more times from white cardstock and then stacked all the pieces together to add some extra dimension.
I used 2 different sizes of a large stitched rectangle die to cut both the background piece and also a piece of patterned paper.
Added the patterned paper to my card base and then foam mounted my watercolour panel. Adhered the die cut sentiment, stamped the other sentiment on black cardstock and heat embossed with white eembossing powder.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

SSS Stitched Rectangle die set
SSS Sending and Wishing stamp set
Lawn Fawn Scripty Love die

Hooray, it's your day!

Hi everyone,

Today's quick and fun card features Neat and Tangled's Hooray die and sentiment and balloon stencil.

It's quite a gray day here so the lighting for my photo is not so great!

I started by using a wonky stitched rectangle die for the card base.
I then used the solid Hooray die to die cut that piece so I could inlay my die cut distress ink blended background and also the black die cut over top.

Did some ink blending on the balloon which was done with a stencil and added a few water drops to the balloon and some clear Wink of Stella.

Stamped the 'day' sentiment with black Versafine ink and added a little string to the balloon with a Tombow black marker.

Well that's it for my card and thanks for stopping by.

Neat and Tangled Hooray die and stamp set
