Moonlight Magic

Hi everyone,

Who doesn’t love a glow in the dark moon.

I cut an A2 sized piece of watercolour cardstock and used a large circle die, die cut a circle from a piece of masking paper.

Placed the masked circle piece of paper over the cardstock and blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink over top of the open circle.

I used the circle that was die cut from the masked paper, placed it over the yellow circle.

I blended the other colours Blueprint Sketch and Hickory Smoke on to the background.

I placed the Stampers Anonymous open moon mask piece (medium size) over the circle and used a pallet knife to spread on the glow paste.

Added some shading in between the paste areas with a Lost Shadow Distress watercolour pencil and a paintbrush.

Stamped the bats with black ink and added corn stalks with Hickory Smoke ink embossed with Pumice Stone embossing glaze.

I die cut the witch and cat from black suede paper and added a tiny bit of glow paste behind the cat’s eyes.

I added splatters of white paint and a bit of Distress spritz spray to the background making sure to mask off the moon first and then blended Black Soot Distress ink around the edges of the panel.

Stamped the sentiments and heat embossed with white powder.

I then assembled all the elements onto the background and adhered to a polka dot panel of Idea-ology paper

Check out the glow in the dark moon.

Well that’s it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by 🙏🏻

Fun specimen slides/tags

 Hi everyone,

Well Valentine’s Day is behind us now   so I thought I would work on something a little different. Making some little specimen slides. There are 12 in all.

I started by die cutting each slide and then spraying it with Distress Spray stain and then I used the matching ink pad colour to colour the background for each slide. I also added a few sprays with Lost Shadow Distress spray.

I ran the background piece through my corrugating roller. I then added a few drops of water to each piece.

I added an Idea-ology Ephermera or layer piece to each slide before adding a piece of acetate over top.

For the frame around the die cut word or number I sprayed a piece of card stock with Distress Mica sprays in Brushed Pewter, Antique Bronze and Tarnished so as to give the a metallic finish. I added a strip of brown card stock behind the word or number piece before adhering with tape.

On the top right corner I added an eyelet in either silver or copper and then attached an Idea-ology loop pin.

The word on the left of each slide is an Idea-ology Chitchat sticker.

Below is a photo to see all the Idea-ology sticker words on each slide.

Below are the 12 slides attached with Jute rope.

Here they are stacked.

I had so much fun making these and I hope you enjoy them too. Thanks so much for stopping by🙏🏻

Little Snowman house

 Hi everyone,

Well I’m off to a good start for 2023 with my first make for this year.

I started with the 2nd smallest size of the Idea-ology Vignette boxes which measures 2.75” wide by 4”tall.

The background piece to my box was inked with Salvaged Patina and Tumbled Glass.I added the Star mini stencil over top with Distress grit paste and Clear Rock Candy glitter over top.

To the four outer edges of the box I added Distress Matte texture paste.

I used the Tim Holtz Lumber embossing folder to cover the sides and top of the box. I used Speckled Egg distress ink with a touch of Walnut Stain to colour the pieces.

To the top windows of the frame I added a strip of acetate which I had added Snowfall Grit paste using the snowfall stencil from this year’s Simon Says Stamp Stamptember and Tim Holtz collaboration stamp set.

To the inside walls of the box I added pieces that were embossed using the Tim Holtz mini Brickwork 3-d embossing folder.

I used a frame piece from Idea-ology which I distress with inks and a bit of crackle paste. To the inside floor of the box I added distress paste and mica flakes.

The snowflake is an Impresslits folder. I inked it with Peacock Feathers distress ink and added Statue Foundry wax to the edges.

The snowman was painted with Distress paints and grunge duo a bit with a Walnut Stain Distress crayon.

The sentiment strip at the bottom is Idea-ology. I also added a strip of red velvet ribbon under my snowflake.

Well that’s it for my little snowman box.

Fall art

 Hi everyone,

Well all the leaves are gone from our Maple tree for this year and my card reflects the beautiful colours it gave us.

I started by blending Distress ink colours onto a piece of card stock and then die cut my leaves. I then added translucent crackle paste to them and set aside to dry.

Once the paste was dry I rubbed on some Walnut Stain ink so it would seep into the cracks of the leaves.

My background was created using several different colours of Distress inks and added some Distress spray stain.

I inked the edges of my card with Distress Walnut Stain ink and tore little bits of the card here and there.

I added other touches of colour with the brown twig and green sprig.

I chose a cream coloured card for my base and inked the edges with gold metallic rub on.

To finish the card I added my sentiments and a couple if enamel embellishments.

Well that’s it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by 🙏🏻

Supplies:

Tim Holtz Fall Foliage die set
Tim Holtz Idea-ology quote chips
Tim Holtz Idea-ology sentiment package

An uninvited guest

 Hi everyone,

Today as I am continuing on my Halloween theme for this month and here’s another card I have to share with you.

I started by embossing a card panel and then spraying it with Distress Mica spray and then dragging an black ink pad over top to add some black highlights.

For the skull I used an Idea-ology piece and layered a black piece of card stock behind and cut that piece slightly larger than the skull. I added some Distress Foundry wax to the edges of the black piece.

I cut a piece of Mummy cloth and sprayed it with Black Soot Distress spray and I also added some Distress Rock Candy glitter to the Mummy cloth piece.

I layered my finished piece to a gray card panel which I distressed with my distressing tool and then blended the edges of the panel with a little Black Soot Distress crayon.

It is hard to see in the photos but the Decayed Distress Mica stain spray adds some nice glimmer highlights to the background.

Well that’s it for my skull card and thanks so much for stopping by 🙏🏻💀
