Warm Winter wishes

Hi everyone,

Well it's the last day of 2019 and I have finished this year off with a Zumba class this morning and managed to squeak in my last card for the year. Woo Hoo!

I started by creating my background by blending a couple of colours of Distress oxide inks onto a white background which I had cut out using a wonky stitched rectangle die. I then applied some Gina K glitter paste using a stencil from Taylored Expressions.

I set that aside to dry and created my large sentiment by diecutting 3 times and layering together and blending some Distress oxide ink over top.

I coloured my cute little rabbit with Copics.

I adhered my panel to a base of patterned cardstock and foam mounted the large die cut sentiment.
The bunny was foam mounted and the tiny winter was heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I added some glossy accents to the tiny flower and added a black gel pen to the nose and eyes.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Holiday Snowflakes

Hi everyone,

Today I have 2 cards to share that I created using both the positive and negative from a large snowflake die.

I started by cutting a large panel with a stitched rectangle die and then cut a snowflake from the white piece. I then moved onto die cutting the snowflake from a few different colours of cardstock. I carefully taped all the snowflake pieces together on the back side and then laid them into the snowflake cutout background.

I added foam tape to the back of the panel and adhered it to the card base which was lined with a piece of diagonal stripe patterned paper.

For my second card I die cut the snowflake from a white panel. The background to my snowflake was created by blending 3 different colours of distress oxide inks. I added some white splatters to the panel and adhered it to my card base. I applied foam tape pieces around the edges of the snowflake and turned it into a shaker card using Snow Flurries mix from Taylored Expressions.

Both sentiments are from MFT stamps.

Well that's it for both cards and thanks so much for stopping by.

Sending Holiday Cheer

Hi everyone,

I have a card to share today that I created using the Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Parade die set.

I first started by creating the base of my card by embossing the background with the Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop die.

I used the same die to also cut a small panel to mount my flowers on.

I ran the Poinsettia die through my die cutting machine a couple of times so that I would have enough pieces to create my flowers and leaves.

I added some colour to the flowers and leaves by blending some Distress Oxide inks over the pieces.

The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock and heat set with white embossing powder.

I die cut a panel of red cardstock, added my small quilted panel and arranged my flowers tucking i. The leaves here and there. I added a small pearl to the centre of each flower.

Well that’s it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

I added a stitched glitter snow hill and blended some ink around the edges of the circle tag.

A little white glitz glitter gel from Gina K was added under the tree. I popped the whole thing up with some foam dots and added a die cut bow also from Newton’s Nook and added some Glossy Accents to the windows.

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share that I created using the new Sunny Studio Stamps Layered Poinsettia die set and new large sentiment.

I started by creating my background using a stencil from Altenew and 3 of their mini ink cubes.

I adhered the stencil to my cardstock panel and began applying the colours from the bottom first with my lightest ink and then the next darker ink, then the darkest and then repeating the inks again from dark to light to the top of my card. Used my new Taylored Expressions ink blending brushes. Love, love, love these.

Once I was happy with the stripes I applied a Simon Says Stamp stencil over top of the panel and added Glitter Snow embossing paste.

I stamped the large sentiment also new from Sunny Studio Stamps with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with white powder over top.

The poinsettia was created using 4 different shades of pinks and also a dark green. The leaves were stamped with Versamark and clear embossed. Stamped the berries and heat embossed them in white.

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share that I created using a combination stamp and embossing folder set from Sizzix/Hero Arts.

at was dry I used a stitched die to add some stitching detail to the top and bottom of the panel. I stamped the snowflake background with Versamark ink and heat embossed silver embossing over top. Bee kind

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share that I created for the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge #133 where the theme is to 'Emboss it like a Boss'.

I die cut a panel with a Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die and then placed a stencil over top and began blending 2 colours of Distress Oxide inks over it. With the stencil in place I spread a layer of translucent embossing paste over top. I set the whole thing aside and created my die sentiment.

I used a Simon Says Stamp die for the Be die and layered several layers together. I then went onto diecutting just the 'B' again with several layers of black cardstock.

I stamped the word kind onto a piece of black cardstock which was die cut with a Hero Arts die hexagon shape in keeping with my stencil honeycomb pattern.

The Bee was glued to my card base and the kind was foam mounted.

The whole panel was adhered to a blank card that was embossed along the edges using the same rectangle die that I used to cut out my stencil piece.

Sweet Anniversary

Hi everyone,

Sorry it’s been a couple of weeks but I have been thoroughly enjoying our beautiful summer here and have not spent much time in my craft room. Today however is a rainy day so here I am.

I have a card to share that I had created for my daughter and son-in-law’s 1st Wedding Anniversary. They live in Hawaii and I only wanted to post the card after they had received it.

I started by creating my background panel using a stencil and distress oxide ink. I blended the ink heavily at the top left of the panel and then eased off my pressure for the remainder of the blending.

The panel was die cut using a large stitched rectangle die.

I had the stamped and die cut cherries in my stash from a previous project and thought they would work well with my background.  I die cut the sweet sentiment using gold glitter card stock.

I stamped the remaining sentiments with black ink and added some crystal accents and a little glossy accents on the cherries.

Well that’s it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Alcohol ink and Deco foil

Hi everyone,

I have a card to share today using Alcohol inks, Deco foil and and a patterned piece of paper especially designed to work with Alcohol inks from Hot Off The Press. I bought 4 sheets of this type of paper quite a while ago and have never really used them. Got put to the back of a drawer and forgotten, I guess.

Well they work amazingly well with the inks and the pattern is already stamped and embossed. This particular pattern is called Color Me Glossy Flourish.

I used only 2 colors of alcohol inks and before they were almost dry added the piece of deco foil and burnished it on in a few different areas. I used Lapis Watercolor Deco Foil as it has some blue, gold and silver in the foil.

The die sentiment was cut three times from some white cardstock and all 3 glued together. I stamped and embossed the Simon Says Stamp sentiment onto a piece of black with white embossing powder.

The whole panel was cut with a large rectangle stitched die and then foam mounted onto my card base.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

I die cut a frame with some turquoise cardstock and then adhered the leaves directly to my card base and then foam mounted the frame over top. The sentiment from Clearly Besotted was stamped with some turquoise ink and then I added several rainbow coloured rhinestones from HAI.

Our prayers

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share that I created using some watercolour to create a background for this large stamp from Impression Obsession with an inlaid die sentiment. Entering this in the Simon Says Stamp IG challenge for July where the theme is 'Watercolor'. I like to see the different colours poking out from behind the trees

I started by applying different colours of Tombow markers to a craft mat and then spritzing with water and using a smooshing technique to add the colour to a piece of white card stock. I sometimes forget how wonderful Tombow markers are for watercolouring. The results are beautiful.

Once this was dry I stamped the large background image to my piece. I die cut the word prayers first from black and then from white cardstock. At first I was going to add the word in black but it seemed to get lost in the background so I added the white die cut piece so that it would stand out more.  The whole panel was applied to my card base with foam tape so that I could do an inlaid die technique for adding my die cut sentiment. I stamped the smaller word sentiments on black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Well that completes my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Impression Obsession Birds on Trees Cover-A-Card stamp
Hero Arts Prayers stamp and die set
Tombow markers - Light Green, Reflex Blue, Light Orange, Green
Hero Arts Black cube ink

I recently won the Peonies in Bloom stamp set from Mama Elephant so that is what I used on my card. I stamped the flower and white embossed. I coloured the image with Copic markers and added some white accents with a Gelly Roll pen.

I die cut a white panel with a stitched rectangle die and then masked off a couple of strips and blended some Distress Oxide Twisted Citron ink.

The die sentiment was die cut with a piece of black cardstock and the rest of the sentiment was stamped with Versafine black ink.

Thanks and appreciation

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share using a Tim Holtz stencil and some translucent embossing paste. I am entering this in the current Simon Says Flickr challenge #123 where the theme is to "Do It With Dimension".

I have been busy lately preparing and planting my gardens and doing work outdoors and also organizing my bead collection in hopes to start selling off some of my beads. I must admit I do have a lot. But I will also be keeping a lot so I can start making some bracelets. Maybe I can get my Yoga buddies interested in some.

Anyways I have had some time to create in my craft room. I've recently ordered some new Lawn Fawn products and look forward to playing with some of those. Stay tuned!

I attached my stencil to a die cut piece of cardstock and blended Peacock Feathers distress ink over the whole piece. I then added a layer of Translucent embossing paste over top to create the raised effect of my background.

I set that aside to dry and die cut a background piece for my stencil piece and attached that to my card base.

Once the stenciled piece was dry adhered that to the light turquoise piece with some foam tape.

I die cut the sentiment die 3 times with black cardstock and glued them together.

The stamped sentiment was stamped with versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I adhered the sentiments and added some Nuvo drops for accents.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Hi everyone,

Well it's been a while since I posted here as I was on vacation for a month in Hawaii visiting my daughter, son-in-law and new baby granddaughter. I think I have withdrawal symptoms from holding my adorable, sweet granddaughter and I wish I was still there. Needless to say their were lots of tears. Since returning here to Montreal the weather has not been that great. The sun is shining today but it is  only +4Celcius. Not the beautiful 80+ degrees of Hawaii.

Oh well. Back to it. I actually created this card before leaving but never had a chance to post it. The current challenge over at Simon Says Stamp is 'Anything Goes'. Details are on the blog here. It is also for the current SSSflickrchallenge#120 where the theme is also 'Anything Goes'.

The stencil background was creating by using different colours of ink and Neat and Tangled's balloon stencil.
The background was die cut using a Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die.

I die cut the sentiment several times with white cardstock and adhered it to a black die cut piece. I added some sparkle to the black piece with a Nuvo shimmer pen.

Thanks for everything

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share using all Simon Says Stamp products except for the ink and glitter. Simon Says Stamp's current Flickr challenge #117 is 'Let's Color'. It's really hard to see all the beautiful sparkle on my card but trust me it's there.

I started by die cutting my panel using a stitched rectangle die. I then went on to blending 2 different colours of distress oxide inks to create the background. I then taped my stencil to the panel and applied Nuvo glitter paste being careful to leave the centre part mostly free of glitter.

I die cut the sentiment 4 times with white cardstock and glued them together. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die set
Simon Says Stamp Swirls and Dots stencil

Distress Oxide inks - Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade
