Neon Hello

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share that I will be entering into Simon Says Stamp current "Anything Goes" theme on Flickr. You can find it here 

I started by colour blending 3 different colours of Hero Arts Neon ink cubes.

It is a bit tricky to blend over this stencil because the lines are very thin but I think it all worked out.

Once I was finished with the blending I die cut the hello 3 times with black cardstock. I applied watermark ink to the top layer of the sentiment and added some clear embossing powder so I could have a shiny look to my sentiment.

I added some splatters with black paint and then added the Hello to the centre of my panel.

Onto the card base I added 2 strips of neon washi tape at the top and bottom and then adhered my panel to the card.

Well that's it for my card which was quite simple to make.

Hi everyone,

Well it's been a while since I posted here as I was on vacation for a month in Hawaii visiting my daughter, son-in-law and new baby granddaughter. I think I have withdrawal symptoms from holding my adorable, sweet granddaughter and I wish I was still there. Needless to say their were lots of tears. Since returning here to Montreal the weather has not been that great. The sun is shining today but it is  only +4Celcius. Not the beautiful 80+ degrees of Hawaii.

Oh well. Back to it. I actually created this card before leaving but never had a chance to post it. The current challenge over at Simon Says Stamp is 'Anything Goes'. Details are on the blog here. It is also for the current SSSflickrchallenge#120 where the theme is also 'Anything Goes'.

The stencil background was creating by using different colours of ink and Neat and Tangled's balloon stencil.

The background was die cut using a Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die.

I die cut the sentiment several times with white cardstock and adhered it to a black die cut piece. I added some sparkle to the black piece with a Nuvo shimmer pen.

I added strips of washi tape to the card base and then adhered my panel.

Back to school

Hi everyone,

I have been a little MIA lately. Have a lot going on. My daughter just moved to Hawaii to start a new life with her fiance and we are having work done at the house. New front stairs and a new walkway to be precise. My garden has taken a bit of a beating but there's always next year. It will all be worth it to see the finished job.

Anyways I do have a card to share for the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp where the theme is 'Back to School'. Details here.

Here's my card.

I started by creating the blackboard base to my card. I rubbed white ink over the black piece of cardstock to make it look like eraser marks then added a strip of metallic silver washi tape to the top and bottom of the piece and added it to my card.

The clipboard was actually cut from a 12x12 piece of Doodlebug paper called Take Note

I stamped the 5 sentiments and the Be die from Simon Says Stamp was die cut with black fun foam.

The little birdie was stamped and die cut using Lawn Fawn products.

The Mom's Notes sentiment was stamped using a Stampendous stamp set.

I added some glossy accents to the Be, some gold star embellishments and 2 pieces of Lawn Fawn twine in black and yellow.

I had started to write this post a couple of hours ago and then we lost our power. We are in the midst of a freezing rain storm again. Not nearly like anything we had back in 1998 but kirnd of scary to say the least. Everything is heavily coated and the branches are bending over a lot more than they should be. Supposed to warm up to +3C and then rain and snow again. What a horrible winter.

Anyways here's the card that I am entering for the SSS Wednesday challenge which is 'Add a sentiment'.

I started by embossing the background of my card using a folder called Falling Hearts from Docrafts.
The folder only has the hearts at the bottom.

I then created the frame using SSS Stitched Rectangle die set using some Doodlebug patterned paper.

Used a SSS die with red cardstock for the large sentiment and white embossed the rest of the sentiment on a piece of black cardstock.

Popped up the frame with foam tape, added the die cut, sentiment and a piece of washi tape behind the sentiment.

Hi everyone,

It's a beautiful sunny day here with blue sky but cold.

This is perfect weather to wear my nice fur hat that I bought in Iceland in August. 

Maybe I'll post a pic. Lol!

Well I do have a lovely Valentine's Day card to share that I am also entering in the SSS Anything Goes' challenge here

First I ran a piece of white cardstock through my die cutting machine using a stitched rectangle die.
I cut the panel in 3 pieces using another stitched die.
From there I applied several strips of washi tape to the middle piece and ran that through again with a different stitched cutting die.
I die cut the large heart from a piece of washi covered card and then die cut a small heart from red felt for the centre.
I then added the sentiment to the piece and layered the 3 pieces onto a pink background piece, added
the layered hearts and that's it for this card.

Welcome little one

Hi everyone,

Another gorgeous day here and nice and hot!

Today I have a card that I created for the current 'Stencil It' challenge on the SSS Flickr challenge #48 here.

I used a stencil called Mini Circle Explosion to create the background with a pink ink. I started with a heavier pressure at the top left of my card and then eased off a bit to create a lighter effect at the bottom.

Stamped all the little pieces to go on the front of the card and coloured them using Copics. Added the sentiments and some glossy accents to the balloon. Finished the whole card off with some washi tape and silver hearts.

You color my world!

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a very nice Easter and are not too much on a chocolate overload high!!
Today's card is for the current 'Come Rain or Shine' Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp here.
Perfect day to post this card as it is pouring rain outside today after having such a gorgeous Easter Sunday yesterday of 16C.

Here's my card:

I started by stamping the umbrellas one on top of each other and watercolouring them using Zig Clean Color real brush pens in a rainbow design.

I then masked off all the umbrellas and applied Translucent embossing paste using a SSS stencil. Once dry I added the sentiment, some washi tape down each side of the panel and finished it off with matching sequins and that's my card for today.

wishing we lived closer

Hi there,

I must say that I have never been one to use too many soft pastel colours on my cards. Well that changed this week with the current SSS Flickr challenge #26 to Play with Pastels.

The sentiment is for my daughter and fiance who just left after visiting for a week. I miss them!

Here's my card:

I pulled out a Color Box queue ink set called Rainbow Sherbet. The colours are nice and soft and perfect for this card.

I used a stencil and daubers to apply the different colours for the background. When I was happy with that I stamped the sentiment in black ink. The whole panel was die cut using a large rectangle die. I created the sentiment by scribbling a Copic marker onto some cardstock and then cutting out the die. I cut the sentiment again but this time from some fun foam to give it some added dimension.I thought that it still needed a little extra something so I ran a piece of washi tape across the bottom of the panel

Added a light blue pearl and that's it. Card is done!!
