Foil, paste and stencils

Hi everyone,

Well I haven't been here to post for a while as it seems that I have pulled some muscles in my upper back/shoulder area which is quite painful even to type or craft. This is not good for me as I have been sidelined from exercising which is something I do everyday. Zumba, Pilates, Yoga and Power Walking all on hold. UGH!!!!! Help is on the way though with some physio. Anti-inflammitories and Tylenol are helping out a bit but oh man oh man this is extremely painful. Wish I knew how I did this so I could avoid it in the future.

Anyways I have 2 cards to share that I had previously made before all of this happened using some Newton's Nook Designs products.

I used the Evergreens stencil which is awesome on both of my cards. The first card I started with an aqua panel die cut using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and added my stencil and  applied some Distress grit-paste and before it dried I sprinkled on some glitter. It is super sparkly in real life. Too bad the photo doesn't quite capture all the glitter.

I added some irridescent bubble embellishments from Studio Katia to the first card and layered the panel onto a piece of patterned paper.

On the second card I used some foil for the trees and also used the Petite Snow stencil and some Whipped Spackle for the snow portion of the card above the trees. the panel was die cut first using an MFT Die-namics using a Stitched Rectangle die. I used a mini circle shaker die from MFT die-namics for my sentiment. I adhered a piece of patterned paper to my card base and then added the panel and the sentiment circle.

Well that's it for both of these cards and thanks so much for stopping by.

Golden pines

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where the theme is 'All That Glitters is Gold'.

I used stamps and dies from Newton's Nook to create my scene.

I started by stamping the images on a white piece of cardstock and coloured them with Copics. Added a couple of trees that were stamped and fussy cut.
The pine piece was die cut 6 times using glitter cardstock.

I adhered all the pine pieces along with some red glitter berries along with a green glitter bow.
Stamped the sentiment and mounted the whole panel onto a black piece of cardstock and then adhered to a Neenah desert storm card.

Added glossy accents to the windows and that's it for this card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Glitter snowflakes

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share using various glitter snowflakes, some ink blending and a snowdrift horizontal die. I thought it would be fun to use this die up and down on the card instead of sideways.

I started by blending my background with Distress inks and adding some water droplets. As I didnt't want to create extra layers on my card I die cut the panel using the horizontal snowdrift die and set the pieces aside.

The frame was die cut out of white cardstock 3times and glued together to add a little depth. I added the frame to my card base and then carefully inserted each of the frame pieces in place.

The snowflakes were die cut using glitter cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in black onto a die cut  tag piece of cardstock from MFT Blueprints 13.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

MFT Die-namics Horizontal Snow Drifts die
MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13 die set
Simon Says Stamp Melody Snowflake
Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes die set

Thanks a bunch

Hi everyone,

I have a card to share today for the current Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp where the theme is 'Thanks/Thanksgiving'. Details can be found here.

I used a new die from a current die set that I had recently purchased from Newton's Nook Designs called Pines & Holly die.

I started my card by diecutting the patterned paper panel using the Wonky Stitched Rectangle die from MFT die-namics.

I then carefully measured where each pine cone should go and proceeded to cut the panel for 5 pine cones. Four with dark brown cardstock and one with gold metallic cardstock.

To create a little added thickness to each of the pine cones I die cut them several times again with white cardstock and adhered several layers together.

The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white vellum and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I wrapped the vellum around each side and adhered it on the back with a little tape.

Each of pine cones were added to the bottom of the card and then I added a few gold sequins for a little more sparkle.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Lawn Fawn Winter Bunny

Hi everyone,

I have always loved the cute little Winter Bunny from Lawn Fawn but only recently decided to purchase it.

Here's a card I made using it along with some alcohol ink blending and foil for my background.

I die cut a piece of cardstock using a Hero Arts rounded rectangle die. I then applied Flamingo alcohol ink to the piece and using a straw moved the ink around a bit. Before it was dry I added a piece of Silver Star deco foil rubbing it into the piece in different areas.

I love the effect it gives as the foil has a lot of different colours to it so depending on the light you can see them along with the tiny stars in the foil.

I stamped the cute bunny and coloured him/her with Copic markers. Added some white accents here and there using a white gel pen.

The card was embossed using an embossing folder for some snow.

Foam mounted the alcohol ink piece and the bunny. The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added Nuvo shimmer pen all over the sentiment strip to add a little sparkle.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Lawn Fawn Winter Bunny stamp and die
Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together - sentiment
Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle Infinity die set
Sizzix/Hero Arts Textured Impression embossing folder set - Dots
Deco Foil Silver Star
Alcohol Ink - Flamingo
White gel pen

Christmas shaker

Hi everyone,

Today I have a shaker card created using the Merry Christmas Circle Frame die from My Favorite Things.

I used a Simon Says Stamp circle die on my card base to cut a window opening for my shaker.

I die cut the Merry Christmas die from a piece of glitter cardstock that I had made using some glitter embossing powder. The circle centre left over from the die cut piece was added behind my window.

The sentiment die was cut again several times from plain white cardstock and the pieces glued together to give some extra thickness to my sentiment.

I added a piece of red patterned paper for my background cut to fit my card base.

Some Neat and Tangled sequins were added to my shaker. I addeda strip of red glitter cardstock and a strip of patterned paper to the left side of the card.

Well that completes my card for today.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

MFT die-namics Merry Christmas Circle Frame die
Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles die set
Lawn Fawn patterned paper
Neat and Tangled Classic Christmas sequin mix
MFT shaker window

Christmas snow

Hi everyone,

Today I have another to share which I am including in the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge #109 where the theme is to 'Let Your Stencils Shine'.

I started by adhering the Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp and applying some glitter snow paste to only the right side of the stencil so that I could add a curved panel to the left side. It is a shame that you can't see the little glitter sparkle in the snow.

I  die cut the Merry sentiment from some red glitter cardstock and stamped the other part of the sentiment and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I added a strip of black and white washi tape to the left side, adhered my patterned piece of cardstock which was die cut with a curved stitched die and then added both sentiments.

Well that finishes my card for today and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil
Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp and die set
MFT Die-namics Stitched Basic Edges die set
Lawn Fawn patterned paper
Aleene's Glitter Snow paste
Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder
Black and white strip washi tape
