Time to purr-ty

Hi everyone,

I have a card to share today that I am entering in the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Color Challenge #91 where the theme is to use the colours white, gray, black and pink. Details can be found on their blog here.

Here's my card.

I started by blending the colours onto a piece of cardstock using Newton's Nook Confetti stencil.
Once I was finished with that I used a rounded rectangle die from Hero Arts to cut out my panel.
I set that aside and went onto to stamping and copic colouring my kitty with pinks and greys.

I rounded the corners on the card base and ink blended the edges with Distress ink and then added my panel with foam tape.

I foam mounted the kitty image to my card and stamped the sentiment and embossed with white embossing powder.

Added some sequins and some white gel pen accents and that completes my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Caffeinated Cats

Hi everyone,

Today I have 2 cards that I created using Newton's Nook Designs Caffeinated Cats and various products from other companies.

For my first card I stamped the image and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I ran the piece through my diecutting machine to add a border to the card.

I then went on to water colouring the image with Inktense Watercolour ink pencils and added shading around the image with a light grey colour.

I mounted the piece onto a card base to which I had adhered a piece of black and white polka dot paper. Stamped the sentiment and white heat embossed. Added the sentiment to my card with foam tape and added some crystals to finish the card.

For my second card I blended Distress Oxide ink to a die cut panel and stamped the image with black ink. The sentiment was stamped in black ink onto a die cut piece using a Sunny Studio Stamp circle die.
Mounted the whole panel with foam tape to a card base to which I had adhered a piece of turquoise cardstock.

Well that's it for my cards and thanks so much for stopping by.

Glitter snowflakes

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share using various glitter snowflakes, some ink blending and a snowdrift horizontal die. I thought it would be fun to use this die up and down on the card instead of sideways.

I started by blending my background with Distress inks and adding some water droplets. As I didnt't want to create extra layers on my card I die cut the panel using the horizontal snowdrift die and set the pieces aside.

The frame was die cut out of white cardstock 3times and glued together to add a little depth. I added the frame to my card base and then carefully inserted each of the frame pieces in place.

The snowflakes were die cut using glitter cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in black onto a die cut  tag piece of cardstock from MFT Blueprints 13.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

MFT Die-namics Horizontal Snow Drifts die
MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13 die set

Thanks a bunch

Hi everyone,

I have a card to share today for the current Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp where the theme is 'Thanks/Thanksgiving'. Details can be found here.

I used a new die from a current die set that I had recently purchased from Newton's Nook Designs called Pines & Holly die.

I started my card by diecutting the patterned paper panel using the Wonky Stitched Rectangle die from MFT die-namics.

I then carefully measured where each pine cone should go and proceeded to cut the panel for 5 pine cones. Four with dark brown cardstock and one with gold metallic cardstock.

To create a little added thickness to each of the pine cones I die cut them several times again with white cardstock and adhered several layers together.

The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white vellum and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I wrapped the vellum around each side and adhered it on the back with a little tape.

Each of pine cones were added to the bottom of the card and then I added a few gold sequins for a little more sparkle.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Aloha

Hi everyone,

Well Fall is here and it's my favourite time of the year. There's a slight chill in the air and the leaves are slowly starting to change colours.

Our daughter recently moved to Hawaii where the temperature is still quite hot and the palm leaves blow in the wind. I made this card with her in mind.

I used a Newton's Nook stencil and a couple of ink colours to create the background which I ran through my die cutting machine to add the border around the card.

I stamped the sweet little Mama Elephant monkeys and coloured them using Copics. I didn't purchase the die set so I had to fussy cut the images.

The Lawn Fawn sentiment was die cut with green cardstock and also a piece of dark brown glitter cardstock to add a little accent behind the die piece.

The whole panel was mounted onto a green card base using a sheet of foam.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:

Newton's Nook
Mama Elephant
MFT Die-namics
Lawn Fawn
Wink of Stella
Copics

Have a Wild birthday

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card to share that I created for the current 'Stencil It' challenge at Simon Says Stamp here.

I started by masking off a portion of a Newton's Nook stencil and moving the stencil around blending in Simon Says Stamp ink as I went along. I applied more pressure to the base of each leaf so it would appear darker and then lightly blended the colour up the leaf.

I used a stitched die and cut out a square for my lion. On the card base I stamped a Lawn Fawn lion and coloured it with Copics using 2 different Copic colours to blend a background for my lion.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a piece of black cardstock.

I popped the whole panel and sentiment strip up with foam tape and that's it for my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Coffee is always a good idea

Hi everyone,

Well Spring has finally arrived here and the sun is shining. Yeah!

Today's card is for the current Newton's Nook Designs sketch challenge here and also for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge where the theme is 'Anything Goes'

Here's my card.

I used the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set and stamped 3 of the images and coloured them with Copics.

I didn't have a trio window die so I used the Stitched Squares die set from Simon Says Stamp and positioned the die over a strip of patterned paper and carefully die cut 3 windows.

Before I adhered the strip to my card I applied some orange ink splatters to the panel. I added some twine to my strip, adhered the images behind each window and foam mounted the whole piece to my card base which was embossed with a stitched rectangle die.

I stamped the sentiment in black and added a little heart accent.

Well that's it for my card and thanks so much for stopping by.
